Lewis Sullivan finished his track season on a huge high by adding the British Under-15s 1500m Outdoor Championships title to his growing collection. The 14-year-old St Edmunds Pacers’ star revealed his medal in Bedford is his personal highlight of a success-laden year. It came after the Bury St Edmunds schoolboy, who attends Sybil Andrews Academy, became the first Suffolk winner of the the English Schools Cross Country Championships before winning on his England debut in Dublin.
Congratulations to Lewis (Year 9) who recently competed in the English Schools National Cross-Country event and came first! This ranked Lewis number 1 in the junior boys category and took him to Dublin where he represented England at the SIAB Schools' International Cross Country event and won!! We never doubted Lewis for a second. What an incredible achievement. His hard work and dedication is an inspiration to us all.
We are very proud of Hannah (Year 11), who recently attended the Pupil Library Assistant of the Year awards in London. Although Hannah didn't win on this occasion, she had an amazing day and got to meet many authors including, Miriam Halahmy, Philip Ardagh and Robin Stevens. The event was a huge success. Thank you to everyone involved.
Exciting times ahead as work has begun on our new teaching block that is due for completion this summer. The same construction team that built the school back in 2016 have returned to build our new phases, and it is wonderful to see the start of the first of two of these new blocks is now underway.
Well done to all students in Years 9 & 10 who took part in a very cold and windy 'Walk a mile for Charity' event that took place on Friday 21st December 2018 at Skyward Flight Training on Rougham air strip.
