Well done to all students in Years 9 & 10 who took part in a very cold and windy 'Walk a mile for Charity' event that took place on Friday 21st December 2018 at Skyward Flight Training on Rougham air strip.
Congratulations and well done to our very creative Year 7 and 8 students and their learning coaches, for the fabulously full Christmas hampers that they produced for the Gatehouse Foodbank, Bury St Edmunds. What an excellent way to exhibit our core values of compassion and responsibility during this festive time of year!
We recently had the pleasure of nominating Hannah, our Head Student Librarian, for the 2019 Pupil Library Assistant of the Year award. The awards, organised by the School Library Association and CILIP School Library Group, recognise the hard work of students and their new skills. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for Hannah, who has made a huge contribution to our library making it the heart of the school since we opened in 2016.
Thank you to everyone who donated to Children In Need this year. We are very pleased to announce that the school raised a total of £953.00 which is absolutely fantastic! This wonderful amount was raised by holding a non uniform day and also number of other events that were organised by the Art department. These included, fill the Pudsey, a sponsored silence, dangling donuts and a paper aeroplane contest.
It was fantastic to see some of our Year 7 & 8 students working alongside pupils from Abbots Green Primary School, designing and creating Penguin lanterns for the Bury Christmas Fayre lantern parade. Thank you to all who took part, the penguins look absolutely brilliant and students thoroughly enjoyed making them.
