Post: Invigilators

Start date: Autumn Term 2018

Salary: £8.82 per hour

Contract Type: Casual Contract

Sybil Andrews Academy is looking to develop a team of high quality examination invigilators to cover internal and external exams. Being part of this team will involve supervising examinations to make sure that all regulations are adhered to and helping with related administration such as preparing scripts for dispatch to the examining board.

Training will be given in advance of the examination period starting. No experience is necessary, however invigilators have to be:-

·         Able to support students in a potentially stressful examination environment

·         Punctual, calm, responsible and organised

·         Able to work in a position of some authority

Invigilators are required from November 2018 however the main examination period starts at the beginning of May and finishes at the end of June. Other examinations occur at different times throughout the year. Hours are flexible and most sessions take place between 9.00am and 4.00pm.

A position such as this would suit a person wanting part time work at different times in the year.

Post: Exams Officer

Start date: ASAP

Salary: Grade 4.24 - £22,401 pro rata per annum

Contract Type: 3 days per week/40 weeks per year

Contract Term: Permanent

We are seeking to appoint a suitably experienced Exams Officer who will be responsible for the administration and organisational arrangements for internal and external exams.

The Exams Officer is required to work from 8am-4pm during exam times but some flexibility may be possible at other times of the school year.  There is also a requirement to work on the PD Days plus the day before and after the publication of the GCSE Results in August. 

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has good team skills but can also work independently when necessary
  • Has excellent interpersonal, communication, organisational and IT skills
  • Can maintain discretion and confidentiality
  • Is extremely accurate in their work
  • Is flexible, resilient and willing to contribute to the Academy’s journey to outstanding
  • Is committed to improving the lives of the young people of Bury St Edmunds
  • Has an excellent sense of humour

Post: 2 x midday supervisors

Start date: ASAP

Salary: £8.50 per hour / Grade 1.6

Contract Type: 2 hours per day/5 days per week/38 weeks per year

Contract Term: Permanent

We are seeking to appoint two dedicated individuals as midday supervisors to support our pupils and staff over the lunchtime period.  You will be understanding and supportive of our pupils and supervise them whilst eating lunch and socialising during the lunch break.  In addition to the above, you will be required to assist our site team with setting up the dinner hall before lunchtime, cleaning the cafeteria and taking down tables/chairs after lunch. 

Working hours will be 12pm-2pm daily during term time.
