Physical Education
Welcome to Physical Education
Physical Education plays a vital role in promoting healthy, active lifestyles while helping students develop confidence, resilience, teamwork and leadership skills. Through participation in a wide range of sports and physical activities, students learn the importance of physical fitness, personal wellbeing and positive competition.
Our curriculum is designed to enable all students to enjoy being active, regardless of their starting point or level of experience. Students develop their practical skills across a variety of sports and activities, while also improving their understanding of tactics, performance and the principles of health and fitness.
PE provides opportunities for students to challenge themselves, work collaboratively and demonstrate respect, determination and sportsmanship. Through regular participation, students build confidence, develop resilience and learn valuable life skills that extend well beyond the sports field.
We encourage students to take part in the rich extracurricular opportunities available through our sports clubs, fixtures and competitions, allowing them to further develop their skills, represent the school and enjoy the benefits of being part of a team.
Our aim is to inspire students to develop a lifelong enjoyment of physical activity and an understanding of how exercise contributes to both physical and mental wellbeing.
Further information about what students study can be found in our PE Long-Term Plan.
