Homework Update March 2026
Thank you to everyone who completed the homework review. We will share the full findings with you at the start of next term, along with an update on how we are reshaping our policy. One clear message from all stakeholders was the importance of allowing students proper rest during the holidays.
With this in mind, no homework will be set over Easter so students can take time to recharge. However, those preparing for GCSEs or NEAs will still be expected to continue working as required.
For Year 11, this period is especially important. Consistent revision over the break can significantly strengthen their confidence and readiness as they approach the final stages of their exams. Steady preparation now will help them return focused, secure in their knowledge, and ready for the crucial weeks ahead.
Equipment
Over the past half term, we have been tracking equipment checks during Tutor Time, and we have found that around 80 students each week are arriving without the basic items they need for lessons. This has a real impact on learning, as valuable time is lost while staff provide pens, rulers or calculators that students should already have with them.
As equipment naturally gets worn or lost as the term goes on, we kindly ask for your support. Over the Easter break, please take a moment to check that your child has everything they need for the new term. Being properly equipped helps students stay organised, engaged, and ready to learn from the moment they enter the classroom.
You will find above a poster with the full list of required equipment for all year groups.
We also recognise that, especially during the current cost‑of‑living pressures, replacing equipment can be challenging for some families. If you need any assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We are committed to ensuring every student has the resources they need to succeed.
Thank you for your continued support in helping students build positive habits and responsibility for their learning.
